Hello!
I've been off Facebook for three weeks. It's the best thing I've ever done. While I know I'm not the first to do this... it is the first time I EVER thought that was possible for ME.
And this is what that new feeling means to me.
Thanks for following along.
Best,
Sarah
I've been off Facebook for three weeks. It's the best thing I've ever done. While I know I'm not the first to do this... it is the first time I EVER thought that was possible for ME.
And this is what that new feeling means to me.
- Waking up to say hello to my husband and kids instead of checking Facebook (FB).
- Giving more time and attention to anyone I interact with in person or online. They actually have my full attention.
- Texting people I care about instead of posting on FB. If I have your cell, I will probably text you a photo of what's going on, and to me that means more. It's not that hard to do, and it is real. I'd love a text from you.
- Stopping the FB Fake that life is always easy, beautiful and perfect. It's not.
- Taking a minute look around the house and seeing what needs to be cleaned, changed or fixed. Recently, I used some mineral oil on our wood floors and now they look brand new. It took me one hour... about the same amount of time to stumble upon a funny post to share with commentary.
- Calling my dad. I want to have a reason to call my one remaining (and amazing) parent everyday. Now that our kids are older and need less "hovering." I crave his advice and love. And because he also has the time, I'm very lucky.
- Being approached by our kids to hang out with us and talk. All of them have done this ... especially when they hear their parents laughing and talking. They "seek us out" instead of "sneaking out" of the conversation.
- Reading books. I have not read a book in years. It used to be my passion. I loved seeing my mom on the couch reading a good book. Thanks to my mentor for providing a good one today called, "Lessons in Chemistry." Check it out.
- Watching good shows. Our recent favorites The Middle and Glee. (Yes we are pretty late to game on these but we realized we weren't ready for that content because our kids were still too young.) If you are about 44ish or teens and preteens, I think you'll enjoy them too.
- Having more life balance and the time to reflect on moments like these.
Thanks for following along.
Best,
Sarah
